NLP

NLP is Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It is the study of communication; both the way you communicate with others and understanding the communication of others more. With deeper communication there is better understanding, ensuring that you can express your needs effectively and fully understand those of others. 

How does it work?

An Overview

NLP was developed in the 1970’s after a detailed study of what makes people successful. It models excellence. NLP therefore helps you to become the best that you can be.

Communication

We are communicating all of the time. Even by not talking, we are communicating. A deeper understanding of our communication therefore gives us a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. It enables us to motivate, learn, and influence ourselves and others.

Connection

Understanding our communication means that we can connect and co-operate much more effectively with others. This enables us to live in harmony and avoids conflict. Connection also improves our mental health.

What Can I Expect?

NLP targets the subconscious, just like hypnotherapy. Some people have likened it to hypnotherapy without the hypnosis. It has been seen as more scientific and logical than the more abstract counselling and hypnotherapy.

How does NLP and hypnotherapy target the subconscious?

In hypnotherapy the conscious mind is almost asleep and so the subconscious is nearer the surface and very easy to access. In NLP we use the language you use to uncover your unconscious beliefs and limiting behaviours.

What is NLP commonly used for?

NLP is most commonly used in coaching. This is because NLP is the study of excellence. By identifying, analysing and acquiring the skills of successful people, you can also become more successful.
